All the gear and instruments you’ll need to make your record, in a space tailored for creativity.

National Recording has been cutting records in Milwaukee since 2006. Major label artists, indie labels and local musicians have all tracked in our rooms — and they keep coming back for the same reason: experienced engineers with over 25 years making records.
Once a neighborhood pharmacy, our building is now home to National Recording — a premier Milwaukee recording studio.
Whether you’re cutting a full band live or punching in vocals, this is your room.

Every session comes with an engineer who’s spent years in this room. Our engineers aren’t just technical — they know music. If you need jazz guitar or metal drums on a track, we can play to fill in the spaces.
Engineers who live in the genre. From freestyle sessions to full mixtapes and albums.
Our engineers produce. Get help with arrangement, sound selection and song structure while you track.
Need a rhythm section for your song? Our engineers play drums, bass guitar, piano and guitar and can perform on your session.

National Recording is under management by Ezekiel Plevin since 2025, who has worked at National Recording since its early inceptions in 2002.
The studio was founded two decades ago in Milwaukee, WI by gold-record recipient Daniel Zelonky — an artist, producer and engineer working in New York, Los Angeles, Japan and Europe since 1978. He releases vinyl records on his label, S’plat Records.
Beyond records, we’ve produced music for TV shows and commercials, sound libraries for software companies, audiobooks, sound design, foley, and ADR for film.

Thanks a lot — it was a really enjoyable session and the tracks sounded amazing when I got home. I’ve never recorded anything with zero EQ, zero compression, zero plugins and it actually sounds like a record already. Looking forward to mixing the record. Hopefully they’ll have me back out for the next album and we can come back to your spot.Jacob LaCally — NYC Producer / Engineer
